LOSING BELLY FAT!!

We have been programmed to think that 100, 200 abdominal exercises plus 100, 200 or more crunches a day is the sure fire way to lose stubborn belly fat right? I see and hear about people doing this all the time to shed their unwanted belly fat. Almost all the time people who hit the floor and do all those sit ups and crunches fail and this is because they are not seeing the results.

Truth is, doing all those sit ups and crunches leads to building and strengthening your abdominal muscles, but they have nothing to do with losing body fat, especially in your belly/stomach area. Belly fat is one of the most problematic areas for many people and the hardest to get rid of. This is especially true as we age. Trying to flatten your stomach goes well beyond just doing ab exercises. The fact is that building and toning your stomach will do very little to help you lose belly fat and flatten your stomach. But don't put away your exercise mat just yet. You will always want to do stomach exercises but to really shed that excess body fat (in order to show off your toned stomach) you need to do the following.
TO LOSE BODY FAT and to start reducing your belly fat you need to think "BIG PICTURE". Unfortunately you cannot spot reduce only belly fat so you must really think about and concentrate on shedding body fat all over. To do this you must do two simple things; 1) start eating healthy (ABS ARE MADE IN THE KITCHEN) and 2) Exercise at least 5 days a week. If you want the ultimate flat stomach, then you have to reduce the fat that surrounds your abdominal muscles. In order to lose belly fat, you must eat the right foods and start a consistent exercise program.
SPOILER ALERT: There is no miracle pill that targets and burns pure body fat, so if your wasting money on pills that promise to do this you're being had and in a big way. These miracle pills that promise to target stubborn belly fat are nothing more than a marketing ploy. Pause your TV the next time you see one of these insane ads/infomercials and read the fine print. What is the one thing you will see in every one? That's right!! they always say we recommended an exercise program as well as a balanced diet. The people you see in those ads that claim they had results actually do but that's because of the nutrition and exercise program.
NUTRITION, NUTRITION
Although there are claims that certain foods will melt away the fat, the truth is no certain foods have the magic to reduce fat, it's a combination of many foods. But if you start fueling your body correctly and consume fewer calories than you are burning then you will begin to lose body fat over your entire body.
There is nothing more important to losing body than nutrition. I said it above and will say it again "Abs are made in the kitchen." You need to focus on eating whole nutritious foods. These foods are unprocessed and much more nutrient dense than processed foods.
You also need to make sure you are eating every 3-4 hours. This is so much healthier than eating three larger meals per day. If you are eating every 3-4 hours that should have you eating 5 smaller meals a day. These smaller meals should be balanced in Proteins, Healthy carbs and Healthy fats. Doing this will go along way in cutting body fat plus you will never feel hungry. Whenever you feel hungry or low on energy listen to your body and fuel it with real food and you will feel so much better.
EXERCISE
One of the best benefits of exercising is you burn calories which burns fat. Intense Cardio and Resistance exercises are the best way to get the higher calorie and fat burn from your exercise efforts. This really holds true with Resistance/Weight training. When we do cardio the caloric burn stops almost immediately after we are done, while we will continue to burns calories for up to 72 hours after a Resistance/Weight Training day. I highly recommend 3 days of Resistance/Weight training and 2-3 days of cardio. This is a well balanced approached and will no doubt put you on the path to losing that belly fat.
So as you can see, if you want to lose that unwanted belly fat there is only two things that work, proper nutrition and exercise. All that other stuff is MALARKEY! and a waste of your time. You have to approach diet seriously by eating small, balanced meals regularly. And you have to exercise at least 5 days a week. Do this and you will no doubt start seeing the results.
